It's been a long Winter. Spring has not quite arrived in the Rockies.
Antlers are not yet shed;
his neck is bare from rubbing the thick winter coat that
still hangs on; and, in general, he looks a little
thin. This guy was one of 5 large male Elk in a
small herd of their own. They were foraging outside of
the National Park.
