Male pheasant In his prime!

We have a family of pheasants who live in our garden, one magnificent male and 7-10 females!
I finally spent 3 hours lying in the mud and wet grass capturing some photographs of them, he is a truly magnificent bird and looks after his hareem perfectly, always standing between me and his females!

So well composed with his lady in the background! Fabulous shot, Carol. I tried many times to get a shot of one last year, to no avail.

This is brilliant because they normally run for cover when I point a camera at them!
