It is stunning to think of all the different cultures that would have stood by this temple---from prehistoric days through Greek, Roman and contemporary Jordanian. The stone blocks are extraordinary, such warm colors along with the soot of untold fires. Clearly part of civilization's cradle. It's nice to see that the stone arch could be preserved. That gives the photo its wonderful heart.
