Smile of a Guru

Rishikesh - Ram Jhula

He was sitiing quitly in the shade aside a shop, watching all passengers. Noticing me with the camera, he gave me this smile.

All my life I was living from Varasnasi up to here in Ram Jhula along the river of life and I learned during 65 years that my task here on earth is giving people a smile from my heart told Krishnan Anand , asking him how he survived not asking aggressively for money like most do here, certainly when you want to take a photo, oh well, once a German team taped our conversation for two hours and they even didn’t offer me a tea like you do, you can not reach everyone but many friends look after me, so I don’t worry what I shall eat.

And on another question he replied:
It is hard to hear that foreigners get the impression that religion is used as a masquerade to be sold out here in the North compared to the truthful South, but like you said, Indians won’t like to hear that but I can’t deny and in fact it is painful true for many here in the North along the Ganga: Religion became the prostitute of India.

There is still hope and Krishnan Anand is one of those many who are true religious as islands of friends for life. I know, I will meet him again, and if ever you get the chance, say hello to him, a true Guru with a smile.
