I was somewhat disappointed with Navjo National Monument, so I went to Cameron for lunch, but not much to do there I decided to go into the Grand Canyon a day early. If I had arrived a day earlier I could have skied toward Hermits Rest, they finished plowing it the next day around noon.

The cheapest room was still available, no tv bath, shower or toilet (just sink), but just a few steps from the rim. The rate had increased from $50 to $66 since I reserved it (in November?), still a bargain over ski areas.

I had three nights here, then backpacked down to the bottom (Bright Angel Campground) then over to Clear Creek the next day. then up to a falls that wasn't running and back to Clear Creek. Then back to Bright Angel on the fourth day. The fifth day I made it to Indian Garden in two hours, it was cold there and not much to do, so I continued on out that day, and stayed in a cheap room again at the top.
