Southwest England, October, 2006

When we two parted
In silence and tears,
Half broken-hearted
To sever for years,
Pale grew they cheek and cold,
colder thy kiss;
Truly that hour foretold
Sorrow to this.

This is really out of this world as is Byron's poem. Paradise lost! Big vote!

When the twilight is gone and no songbirds are singing
When the twilight is gone you come into my heart
And here in my heart you will stay while I pray

My prayer is to linger with you
At the end of the day in a dream that's divine
My prayer is a rapture in blue
With the world far away and your lips close to mine

Tonight while our hearts are aglow
Oh tell me the words that I'm longing to know

My prayer and the answer you give
May they still be the same for as long as we live
That you'll always be there at the end of my prayer

great shot

If night must be my companion,
My sentence of perpetual desolation,
To starve my heart to death,
Then I beg one memory,
From our days,
To be my only moon
Through the abyss
Of tortuous eternity.

Love the mood you created in this image.

Stunning has been preempted- let's say almost disturbingly romantic, a true dream image. I really love this. V

But oh! that deep romantic chasm which slanted
Down the green hill athwart a cedarn cover!
A savage place! as holy and enchanted
As e'er beneath a waning moon was haunted
By woman wailing for her demon-lover!

Holy Toledo, Naomi. This is quite stunning, and a perfect match for your Bryon quote. Melancholy with a capital K. Even the round faced moon is wont to hide her face for fear we'll see the tears. ~V~

(Is that some wistful moorhen I hear so far away ....)
