Oh Crap--here he goes again!!!

Mom & SiS at the father daughter banquet.
(Cristi was one of the many great moms in the church who helped put this on.)
Yes I was there, behind the camera of course.
Actually put it down alot tonight and tried to give Olivia total attention.

I am frequently reminded of the song
Cat in the Cradle
Of which I am thankful for.

In my work it is easy to get engulfed by my job, which is basically taking care of a BIG family.
Most of my patients quickly become my friends, and a lot I claim as family.
This is a real blessing but it is easy to put off your own family to help others.
Always many crisis including dying patients(4 dear friends in last 30 days)
Divorces and battered women.
Single moms with 4 kids and 2 jobs.(If you are not one or haven't been one you can never understand how difficult this is)

Well here goes the Langley rant again-The world according to clark lol

I boldly blame deadbeat fathers who do not take care of their responsibilities as being a major reason our world is going to
....well...uh.. TO _ _ _ _
(my mom reads this so I won't use the 4 letter word that it deserves)

One of my staff calls her boys father a donor because that is all he did.Sadly funny but all to true.

Anyway DADS!!!
You are directly responsible for how your girl turns out. They need a male perspective.
Larkin and I take our girls out on practice dates. You have to show them what to expect in a good man.

Don't wait for father daughter day once a year.
Model what kind a man you want her to be with. Do it now, they won't hear you after puberty.

I am FAR from the perfect dad, and always look for ways to improve. That is the key, keep on trying.
Divorced dads, put away your issues with their mom. Step up they desperately need a male figure in their lives
A POSITIVE ONE
Get along with their moms at least when your daughter is around.(They learn from watching)

If you are married, same thing. They learn from watching. Show love.Treat your wife like you want your precious daughter treated.
Let them know they come before work, and play, and if they want to talk or ask a question.
STOP!! Take a deep breath and give her a little of your precious time!

One more aside .Help your wife with how girls should dress.
We have a much different perspective on it.
We know how boys are and think!
(Don't kid yourself, it matters how they dress. Look at any teen magazine now.
I mean REALLY! You will or should be shocked Make a stand - please - for your girl)

FINALLY

(if ya made it this far I'll send ya a coupon for something 8>)

If you haven't heard of that song, find the words.

Cat in the Cradle

"when ya comin' home dad?"
"I don't know when, but we'll get together then"

Great shot! Even greater commentary.

Good times...nothing wrong with grabbing the shot and then moving on to the more important issues at hand.

It's not just the guys with daughters, I would imagine my son could benefit from seeing how to properly treat a woman. I might not have been the most helpful to my wife when I was heavy and lethargic, but now that I've lost weight, I have no excuse, so I make every effort to help out and tell Ian that he should be helping out as well. We do always stress to him that he should never hit a girl, but sadly, there are girls out there that will take advantage of this. Most girls do not have the benefit of fathers like you and Jim, and do not become young ladies.

BTW - Cute skirt!!
