Hard Frost Duffus

Duffus castle, Moray, Scotland.

Another bitterly cold afternoon by Duffus Castle in Moray a favourite haunt of mine. The clear blue sky has ensured that the shadows have turned a deep blue colour and the wee twisted tree which is slightly backlit glistens with hoar frost. I really love that little tree. I cropped to a panoramic because of the vast expanse of blue sky which in this case tended to overwhelm the castle.

I love all in this picture, but especially le horizontal limit of the shadow and the tree in the shadow, and the ruine...
