Rubbing Tree

Kuyenda Camp, Zambia Africa

Elephants love to coat themselves with mud then rub down against a tree. This is one such tree. Look at the extent of the mud coating.

The mud bath and rub-down apparently works. We saw ox-peckers (birds that eat parasites) on virtually every animal in Africa, except the elephant.
