I agree with everyone...I would have shot it without the glass, and been poorer for it.

Thanks for the education.

Yes - utterly hopeless, and far too deep for my own good! :) ~ Lonnit

That is the largest glass of wine that I've ever seen. :D
Beautiful shot of a romantic scene.

Incredible this picture is like a painting!

OH MY GOSH! Is this a stunner or what? Brilliant composition! I adore the glass - what romance it adds to the image, making it so special. Again, like Lydia, you've added an intimacy by placing the glass in the frame. This would otherwise be just another beautiful scenic. But no, you've added a personal, human touch. It brings us there. How could we not want to casually saunter over, slip the stem of that glass between the middle two fingers of our left hand, delicately cradling the bowl in our palm, feeling the gentle coolness of the glass as we gently slosh the aromatic liquid around in circles, mindlessly, as we gaze out upon the scene in blissful peace, soaking in the beauty of our view. Then we turn to our right, take 2 gliding steps over to the chair that awaits us, next to a dear friend, whom we smile upon, then sink slowly down into its awaiting arms, supporting us as comfortingly as we caress the glass, and, as we settle in, retrieve the drink from our left hand, with our right, bringing it slowly up to our lips, taking just a little too large of a sip, which we whorl upon our tongue, as we relax back, sighing, "Heavenly..."

Oh, have you brought me there or not? Thank you for the trip. I've been wanting to visit, now it is essential! :) Mmmmmmmm....

This is absolutely fantastic, alexis: beautiful colours and wonderful perspective, enhanced with that glass of Chianti wine which gives the image not only depth but also a very special "touch". (You took this image from the "Piazzale Michelangelo", I suppose?) -- db.

Wow. What more could be put into one 10x4 shot to make it right? "Nothing", says I. That wine glass throws a quick curve ball on the perspective... Very well done, alexis! ~Lydia
