This practice is most certainly brought by the Chinese inhabitants and is a known a 'feng shui' feature.

Here an electric post located next to a window is believed to attract bad luck so the use of multiple
mirrors will allegedly reflect it away from the nearby window of the concerned household.

Well, it's either that or just one VERY vain electric post ...! :-p
