WWII Japanese Sword

Fort Loramie, Ohio

This Sword was given to my father, Vernon Hoying, U.S.M.C, at a surender ceremony in Singtao, China, 1945. It is thought to be a model called a Japanese Calvary Sword, circa 1890s.

Hello Jack;
Yes the sword is a japanese calvary sword Mod 32 1890era They are worth around 400.00 and up I also have one my father broght back and gave it to me. Before he pasted away. The one I have is ser#805xx It's in perfect condition.

A very fine image, Jack. I see that you used the 80-200 Nikkor. Colors and image quality are awesome. Looks like the camera and lens are a great combination.

A great photo of this sword and a poignant history behind it. I retired with 35 years of military service, I have an enormous respect and admiration for those who served like you father did.
