Dier el Madina had been abandoned for aeons perhaps totally covered with sand and debris when the Ptolemeys thought the site magic and built a Temple on the hill, dedicated to Hathor. Beautifully preserved, and mostly deserted by the tourists the winds now worship in the empty halls
