CARE PACKAGE

I got an email yesterday from a friend of mine who was asking me about chemotherapy, etc... The mother of a young lady she knows was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer and has 10 brain tumors and is currently undergoing chemotherapy. It doesn't look good for this young lady's Mom who lives in Corpus Christi. I decided to get a care package together for this lady who is not much older than me. It consisted of a couple of wigs that I used when I was going through it along with some hats, scarves and a book on fighting cancer. The book was given to me by another friend who had cancer and she passed it on to me when I was diagnosed. I now have passed it on to another going through it. It is something cancer survivors do for one another, to reach out and help in any way that we can. I felt it was the right thing to do as so many did so much for me during my illness. I'm not posting this to get any compliments or comments on how sweet I am, far from it. It is just the most important thing I did today...to send off a package to another fighting for her life. Remember, someone who cut you off in traffic or someone you run into that has a nasty disposition may be going through something like this. Reach out if you can and offer a smile to them. You don't know what is going on in their lives.

Thank you, Cindi, for this important reminder that when we go through tough times we are forging a path for those who come after us. I will hold this young woman and her family in my heart. And you too...

The last three sentences of your post says it all.
God bless you; and God bless the person you are sending this package to.

It is such a tough disease to deal with isn't it? It is very commendable that you are giving forward...we should all be this thoughtful. May the peace of God be with this woman and her family.
