Crowley Lake, with the White Mountain in the background, glowed in the golden sun as its light was setting down on the Sierra Nevada, off the Hwy 395, a few short miles north of Bishop.
As we drove on freeway 395 north out of Bishop, the light was low behind the east Sierra on the west side of the mountains, casting constant shadows along the freeway. Nothing spectacular along the freeway we were passing.
Seemed like on the east side, far off, the specious golden light started to reveal, as seen in rare occasions but not exceptional in Sierra. I stopped the vehicle off the freeway, or would risk loosing this light, ran off to the road side, and set the camera in a hurry on the mono-pot with the medium zoom, 24-70mm/F2.8. The gusty, cold winds did not make the shot easy, as the camera was panned from left to right, and again from right to left to record the image in this rare lighting, with 6 panels.
Solitude and Grace in this God's country!
