Wade Goddard, a New Zealander, is on the right. He now lives in Dubrovnik. I have forgotten the names of the other two photographers and am hoping somebody out there will fill me in. This was taken in front of the hotel in Zadar where we gathered to drink coffee and alcohol. The Serbs were shelling the town about six blocks from here. One night at least two of these guys went up to the front lines and came back with a really cool JNA night vision monocular. We sat in the dark hotel room (no lights, you don't want a 203mm shell dropping in on you!) and fooled with the night vision gizmo. One guy was wearing a wool sweater and it was fun to look at the static electricity jumping off it in the dark.
