Perfect. Stop talking about the colors and we'll never know. *wink* The shadows are really great... mixing with the lines on that light thingy... really good. ~Lydia

I love the lines in this pic.

I did check the white balance to see if it was overly orange when I took the shot. Held the display up to it and it checked out correctly. However I am sure that a proper PP will tell you that it has too much warmth and take a little orange from the picture. Maybe the plaster isn't supposed to be that orange beige but that is what the sun through the skylight painted it that day. It was part of the reason I took the shot and I am pleased the G9 rendered it the way I saw it and not the way it should be. I guess I only think color balance is off when it didn't take the picture the way I saw it ... like high altitude photos having a tad more blue than what you actually see. John

Nice comp and inter play of light and shadow. Great warmth to the light too. One this which stands out in this photo is the very slight angle you have used to shoot the wall lamps. Its not head on, its giving a 3-D effect to the whole comp. I think this is good as it, except may be the WB.

I guess I wasn't wearing my glasses (sorry). And they have a nice looking convention centre, as shown in your photo.

OK Penny you are putting me on right. P-i-ano and P-l-ano are two different words unless your screen resolution/dynamic range merges the dot in the letter "i" to make an "l". The guy who suggested the name Plano in 1873 thought the name meant "Plain" in Spanish which it is kind of flat out here. The Plano Centre is the community's convention center thus the name "Plano Centre" is the city's way of being kewl. John

Your son has good instincts. I think I remember him advising you about the photo at the steakhouse - and rightly so! Too bad about the pianos, but it seens like a nice place.... I wonder how it got it's name???

Thanks Rod. My son told me not to touch it which is why it is qualified for this contest and the others aren't.

Penny, Plano is a city north of Dallas. So the Plano Centre does not have pianos.

Aha. I found one of my most minimalist of pictures. We had an off-site strategy conference at the Plano (micro-mini-convention) Centre. Very pretty pictures of a very pretty place unfortunately I have already messed with them. This is the only one I didn't mess with. I loved the brick texture and its shadow. I kept hoping the session would end and everybody would clear out of the room so that I could take this un-noticed. Unfortunately my boss and another wandered back in and wondered why the heck I would take a picture of a wall and what I was doing with a camera in my pocket anyway. John
