Ouch! It’s only 31 degrees outside right now and it’s supposed to go down to 21 degrees by morning! Now that’s COLD! (At least by North Florida’s standards!) Our home is one of the beautiful old homes that actually have TWO fully functional fireplaces since it was built in 1912 and central heat was a rare thing at the time. (The home has been completely renovated with central heat and air now, so we have all the modern “buzzers and bells” with a lot of the charming old trappings that make this home so desirable to live in.). The second fireplace has been converted to a gas-fired fireplace, so even on the coldest days or nights it’s quiet easy to “fire it up” and make the home toasty warm. Since it has two fireplaces, it goes without saying that there are two fireplace mantles. Now that Christmas is over and all the decorations are put away, its quiet pleasant to have some masculine decorations up again to highlight the cozy room.
