The first full day of 2008, and it’s been a very cold one here in North Florida. Well … probably not that cold to other places in America, but cold enough for here with a high of only in the mid 50s and the wind blowing at 25 to 30 MPH. The wind was cutting through a body like a knife. The Christmas season has ended and all the decorations and “pretties” have been put away for another year, and it was time to relax with a crackling fire.
It’s been a rough year for me physically with a series of strokes almost doing me in at the first of the year and the degenerative disc, joint, and bone disease wracking my body with pain. Nevertheless, I’ve tried to put a happy face on it all and have taken what joy I can whenever I could. I even actually bought a couple of motorcycles and have truly enjoyed the warm weather and the good days. Now with my darling wife Gerie, I’m looking forward to this brand new year.
It’s going to be great in 2008!
Wishing everyone a Very Happy New Year!
