I figure this one will need a little bit of explaining. As it happens, I learned last week that Christmas dinner would be at our house. Sunday, I braved the crowds and hit the stores buying a beautiful tablecloth and stumbling upon some little picture holders at our local craft store. The picture holders (which were purchased at a 50% off sale price) inspired me with the lovely idea of making place cards for my dinner guests which they could take home as a souvenir. Once home, I began work on the place cards.
Being a Creative Memories Consultant, I rummaged through my tool bin to find our newest product, the Snow Maker which punches a lovely snowflake out of paper. I punched two into a green card, printed out names on gold shimmer paper and assembled the place card so that the name was on one side and the snowflakes were on the back. Still, it seemed to be missing something. I glanced down at the leftovers from the punch to discover that they would make excellent holly leaves. A few punches out of some red paper for the berry, the precision point adhesive pen made especially for such tiny cutouts, and voilà! Lovely place cards and parting gifts!
The only drawback is that my mother loved them so much, I have a feeling that next time I spend Christmas at her house, I might ought to bring my tools.
