In Flight....nearly

Backyard Brissie oz

Always use a fast enough shutter speed for the focal length lens you're using.
Otherwise the birds movement will be blurred.
The resulting picy will have no use except for one of Lonnits challenges:-)
Also do not over saturate your shots for a natural look:-)
After reading Lonnits latest post we have to justify why our picys work.
Well this works on so many levels, the psychedelic colourations overpowering the subject matter,
the in focus flowers at the bottom giving some sense of reality in a sea of acid induced wonderment..hic.
The cut off tail & weird angle of the bird only reinforces the surreal joy the brain
experiences when viewing this kaleidoscope of mainly red & blue.
Which is another rule broken as a kaleidoscope has many more colours than red & blue a.
Seeing as we have a way to go in the challenge & I will be trying to get some better picys I will only rate this massive rule breaker as an awesome picy that works better than a proper picy........I think:-)

What usually makes blurry images work when they are not totally abstract is at least one crucial sharp area, such as the bird's face or even an eye. However, in this case, only some red leaves at the bottom are more or less sharply defined. These are a serious distraction that ruins the impact of the bright, swirly colors. -tv

I'm sure there's a couple of acid heads here that would vote for it Lonnit, they luv anything wiv bright colours. Anyhow how come that Sue Anne, Debi, Tommy, Tom & Doug said this was the best picy they have ever seen & it would have outsold Jimi Hendrix posters 35 years ago at Woodstock. I deleted their comments because I didn't want you unduly influenced when you did your critique:-)
Out takes were ahrt back then:-)

To me, this is an outtake. I don't believe the image works at all, and I don't care for it. You're attempting to justify the hell out of it, but it was merely an error that you are trying to pass off as an entry. You never, as you admitted, would have kept the image if it weren't for this challenge - and you'd be right to trash it. It doesn't work, but you've got a bit of rule of thirds giving some hint of support. Technically, yes it qualifies for the challenge, so it won't go to pending, but I'm certain it will garner no votes. I'd like to see what you can do for real here. C'mon, go out and make some art! ~ Lonnit

Thanks Techo:-) I'm not sure if the body was sharp whether it would be as wrong a picy or have the overall colour appeal. Assuming this has some colour appeal:-)hehe

Right on, on the over saturation, but with these colors it's very psychedelic 8)
Not sure about the blur though, I would've liked only the wings to be blurred while the body was more sharp, then you'd have a keeper. Easier said than done. But I guess this works out ok.
