Welcome to Graphics Challenge #114! Beginning with fruit and nuts, bits of paper
and shiny foil, to gingerbread cookies, most ornaments were home made. German
glass blowers and tinsmiths gave us the style of Christmas tree ornaments we
know today. In keeping with the holidays, our challenge theme this week is to
create a Christmas Tree Ornament. Make it as plain or ornate as you like and have
fun with it!
I used Photoshop Elements 4 to make my ornament: the elliptical marquee tool, bevels, drop
shadows, inner glows, outer glows, lighting effects, posterize, equalize and the smudge
tool. I got the reindeer from an email I received and added it to the ornament. I tried to draw a
ornament hanger, but didn't like what I drew so I found one I liked Online. I cut & pasted the
ornament hanger onto my ornament, cleaned it up with the eraser and posterized it. The frame
was made using Stroke Selection and Recessed Frame.
