Dracula's actual castle is not much to look at. It is very old and consists mainly of some crumbling brick walls at the top of a steep peak. It is deep in the middle of the Carpathian mountains, far from any town or train tracks, and is not a tourist attraction. The more beautiful and well-maintained Bran castle in the town of Brasov is usually referred to as Dracula’s castle, but the joke among local history buffs is that the count himself, whose actual name was Vlad Tepes, never stepped foot in that particular castle.
