Here is my party. The guy in the Miami Heat jersey is Kipenus, my guide, who speaks several of the local tribal languages and very decent English, and knows people all over the highlands. The one behind the guy in red called himself Mickey Mouse, and was a porter and our talented cook, also a super nice guy who spoke some English. The one in camo and the guy in the hat are porters we picked up a couple days into the trip – our food provisions (including 25kg of rice) and the heavy pots and pans, tent tarp that we never used, and axe for firewood all added up to more than four of us could reasonably carry over muddy mountains. The guy to the far left was just a local guy who walked with us for awhile.
