Variaz (Polish Waręż, Ukrainian Варяж), a township in Lviv region. Situated on the border with Poland.
Until 1951 it was a Polish town, when, after a minor border readjustment, it passed to the Soviet Union (Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic). Since 1991 it has been part of independent Ukraine.
At the river we can see an old church of St. Mark, built in 17th century.
