Inverpolly Caramel.

Achnahaird Bay, Inverpolly, Scotland.

Achnahaird bay is at the edge of the Inverpolly reserve on the west coast of Scotland and close to the Summer Isles. It is a wild deserted photographers paradise. Vast open spaces ensure that a summer sunrise is uninterrupted by such natural obstacles as hills and mountains and as a consequence its long rosy reach leads to caramel sweet sunrises that paint the surrounding scenery in candy coated light. Only the distant mountains of Stac pollaidh and Cul Mor interrupt the distant skyline and they receive the first and most intensely coloured light.
