This should have been yesterdays PoDay celebrating the 74th annversary of the end of "The Great Experiment".

During the 13 years between 1920 and 1933, this oh so stupid idea resulted in clear results: innocent people suffered; organized crime grew into an empire; the police, courts, and politicians became increasingly corrupt; disrespect for the law grew; and the per capita consumption of the prohibited substance—alcohol—increased dramatically, year by year.
