The blown left side of the picture was accidental, but I think works for this challenge.
I actually like it better this way - like some mysterious place in space outside of the pilings.

I agree Katherine, sometimes blowing out some detail really works out nicely and I really love this shot. The exposure on the pilings is perfect! I like this very much.

I love this image! The harsh angular upper portion offset by the swooshing water is great. And I agree that the very high key left side works very well. I'm just not sure where or what the other light source is.
