Irrigation Channel

Shushtar

A 70m long manually dug irrigation cannel through a consolidated rock, ordered by Darius the great, about 500 B.C.
It was servicing up to about 20 years ago; Modern irrigation system is built underneath of ancient one, as the best ever place and irrigation solution.

What a huge task that must have been. It's amazing some of the wonders in our world and the ones made by man so very long ago without big machines and technology really amazes! Very beautiful shot of the tunnels Ali. Great information about the photo too.

The striations in the rock are fascinating. It ripples overhead like clouds in a fast moving sky. There is so much to learn about our common history in your country. Thank you very much for sharing it.
