The Dordogne regtion is famous for its caves, in particular at Lascaux where the prehistoric cave paintings are found. We were close to the village of Padirac, and decided that we would look at the underground chambers there.
Gouffre de Padirac is entered though a huge "sinkhole". This picture gives you an idea how deep we go before even going down into the caves. That elevator and staircase goes down about 10 stories.
