The background in all of these Hallowe'en pictures is the great outdoors. The kids were standing in my doorway as I crouched in the entrance and used bounced flash off the entrance ceiling. The pattern in the lower right is the grill of my (black) car, and the light (middle left) is the across-the-street neighbour's porch light.
