Well for those of you that know me,know that I have always wanted to enter into the professional side of photography. My goal was, and still is, to make it a quite profitable business for me and my family. I want to be able to replace my husbands landscaping business, so that he can only work @ the Sheriff's department. I want for him to enjoy more time with the boys, and be able to relax.. if only a little.

So, it is coming to pass. Lots of prayer, and crossed fingers, I am starting to arrive. Arrive in the place that for me, seemed so far out of reach. I have been hired by a local daycare chain to take portraits for them. Hopefully, this will be an annual thing, and more business will grow from here.

My friend Katie, a wedding photographer, has been an enormous help in my getting to where I want to be. She and I have been spending large amounts of time together, in person, and over the internet, talking shop. It's good for me, and I hope for her as well. I am still a long ways from where I plan to be, but at least it is a start.

This weekend, I was "hired" by a local pet store, for their grand opening. They had a Halloween Costume Contest for the pets, and I was able to take portraits of these cute family members. This is just one of the shots from the weekend, and I do believe my favorite. I am learning alot while I "do". I am very much a hands on learner, so this is perfect for me. Also, alot of knowledge comes in the editing side as well.


So anyway, for now, I will be busy working, and hopefully getting to that place I so long to be. Until then, my PAD will be even more sporatic than it has been, if that is possible. I have so many of my own personal pictures that I haven't processed yet, but I am willing to let those go, for now, because I know that just around the bend, there is success.
