The typical sound of the DiZi comes from a small piece of paper which is wrapped around one of the playing wholes, thus vibrating with the air blown in and creating a "fuzzy" sound which is typical for this flute. Artists in China have developed high playing skills with furious techniques during the last 2000 years.
