Compare and Contrast

I flew this afternoon from Sacramento to San Diego, the scene of terrible
wildfires recently. The shot on the left is taking off from Sacramento,
and the shot on the right is approaching our landing in San Diego. Not quite
the same height, but you can see for yourself the difference in air quality.
The area of San Diego in this photograph was NOT part of the burn area, but you can
literally see the air that hovers over even the most unscathed neighborhoods.

Don't go riding the bike in this...a sad sight, gary.

Terrific work. Back in 1988 when Yellowstone burned even the air here was ladden with dust. Made for some spectacular sunsets--but at a terrible cost.

Well done, we can see the contrasts, amazing.

Amazing!!!!!!
Your daugther and her mother are ok?
Herb 26-Oct-2007 03:30
Yep it is bad
Cindi Smith26-Oct-2007 02:55
Air that bad can't be good for you. I think you all need to come on over to Texas where the air is clean and clear.

Excellent use of photography to show the contrasts.
