This common annual 'polypore' actively grows at this time of year and looks its best now. As you can see from the next photo, the pore surface pattern consists of a maze. The common name for Daedaleopsis confragosa is 'Thin Maze Polypore' to differentiate it from Daedalea quercina, the "Oak-loving Polypore" - or "Thick Maze Polypore."
