Black-tailed Rattlesnake

Crotalus molossus

Here is the back portion of a Black-tailed rattlesnake. This is a really beautiful rattlesnake. I did not have a wide lens and couldn't get far enough away to get all of this into a single frame. This is a stitched mosaic of 4 shots, each taken with a lens at 420mm, hence the rather large image and file size.

Here's what the front part of the snake looked like, taken from a different angle. The snake didn't move between the shots above and this one below, even though I had to move around to get the different perspectives:
