The Bells that ring here come from London, St Martin's in the Fields. The vibrations from the bells at this historic church at Trafalgar Square in London were destroying the foundations and brickwork. So Perth and Western Australia made a deal: they would supply the metal for St Martin's in the Field to forge some new and smaller bells in exchange for the older bells to go to Perth. Several times a week at lunchtime these bells ring. A lovely sound.
