When I was just 17,I applied to the RAF with the dream of being a navigator in the one of these.I drooled over the F4 Phantom II.I researched as much info.as I could,then after passing through RAF Officer Training at RAF Biggin Hill,I was told that as I wore spectacles I would never fly with the RAF.Even now,off the top of my head,12,500 lbs thrust,increasing to 21,000 lbs with reheat,per engine.Marvellous aircraft.
