This is another visualization of the entry in the Eligible Gallery.
Working at night as the allies attack, resistance members, male and female, of all ages often operating alone, work to support the allied effort.
I have a great interest in WWII and especially the Normandy campaign. The first image that popped into my mind was of a resistance fighter reading a map by candlelight in carrying out a mission. So, I thought, why not try some kind of re-enactment of this. There is a canal in DC...the C and O canal a bit reminiscent of the Caen canal...so I thought that should be the context. You may recall that July 1944 was when the British intensified their assault on Caen...so the idea began to take shape. In this study I kept PS to an absolute minimum....just the searchlights and the distant fires.
