Grain, Solar and Wind, Layers of Engery
by Shirley Haden

I didn't even see the heat waves rising from the fields or even think of them at all because it was only in the upper 60*s so heat wasn't a thought. I got to looking at a few shots I took and at first couldn't figure out what had happened. Awwww it was heat rising from the fields!!

Thanks for the comments everyone. You know Miro, it was a very cool day, the heat was coming from the crops ( I think mostly off the corn field in the distance) not from the air. As for the sky, I wish it were a bit darker but it was the direction of the shot that dictated the blueness of the sky. When I took a few shots from right in front of those wind turbines the sky was royal blue.

No more heat here. My chance is over for this year. This idea crosses My mind this Summer, but temperatures was to high even to look through the blinds. To go out with camera, no chance.
Cool effect of a hot landscape. Very nice picture.

Great concept Shirley and well caught (if not seen)! I was wondering if the sky were a darker blue if it would be better?

Ha ha! Bet you never do this again (tongue in cheek). What a wonderful effect - the soybeans like a carpet and the windmills and trees like a wonderful painting. This is great Shirley! brent

Love it, great composition and rich colours in the foreground, the windmills almost look like they are reflected in water.

Thank mother nature for that one Charlie, it is just the heat rising, like when you look at airliners taking off, the heat from the engines makes those vapor squiggles. I don't have a clue why I didn't see it while I was taking the pics, but there it is. First response was "what the heck!" lol

Marc, I sure never expected to see the heat on a day that the temps were so low. Glad you like it too!
