Well, here you go. A brief real life glimpse of my every day. Sibling Rivalry, caught in action.
This 4 wheeler was a gift to our oldest son, from his Poppa. Many years ago. (My father in law lives in Alaska.) My dear sweet father-in-law and his wife came down for a week long visit. Uncertain as to when he would see us again, he decided to buy this four wheeler for our then, 6 month old son. We all had a great time putting it together, and letting it collect dust for just over a year before the Entomologist was able to attempt riding it.
Fast forward 5 years.
After purchasing a new battery, (apparently batteries only last so long) the 4 wheeler is back in action. It's certainly a favorite pastime. This thing has been a firetruck, a police VEHICLE, (he never says car) a tow truck, etc. I think it would be safe to say, it's his favorite toy. It would only stand to reason that if big brother loves it, the baby would too. Only.. the big brother doesn't find that to be a good idea. As Mommie (referee, peace keeper, key negotiator, whatever noun you choose) I try to keep everything fair. I mean, what would be the harm in letting little brother ride the FUN toy?
So while my husband was mowing the grass, and I was helping to spread pinestraw (not)the baby secretly climbed onboard, and took off! Of course, once the Entomologist heard this, he ran fast and caught him. The baby was having none of it, put it in high gear, and floored it!
It was rather comical, and I was laughing the entire time. Eventually it was resolved, and the 4 wheeler went into time out. Not to be used unless we can share. We'll see what happens.
Now I am off to get those grass stains out of the Entomologists clothes.. FUN FUN
