Harmony in the House

It has been about a week that Zoey has been living in the house. She now has free reign during the day, but has her own bedroom at night...ha ha...so everyone can get some sleep. There is no more hissing or growling by anyone and she and Ozzy have become quite the pair. Lucy tolorates her and on occasion will run and play a little with her. The only challenge we have now is the food situation. Ozzy is on a prescription diet for crystals and he always wants to eat her food. We can't leave Zoeys food out when we are not around and thats been kind of hard. Now we are just waiting until the end of the month when she has the surgery on her eye. So far so good!

I also have a food situation with my fatty liver survivor (Ebby) who is on a restricted diet and my other cat (Cookie). I am fortunate that Ebby is twice as big as Cookie. We have constructed a box for Cookie to eat in. It is a simple moving box, fully enclosed. There is a hole cut just big enough for Cookie to fit through and additional "windows" on the side. This has solved our problem and, after several years, Cookie refuses to eat outside of the box!

I think it is absolutely awesome that you rescued Zoey. Whoever hurt her and left her to die did not realize what they had or they just did not care--- either way it is so sad that she has been hurt so bad in her young life but then God stepped in and found her a wonderful home with loving parents. God bless you and your family and i pray her surgery goes well for all of you.

I am so glad to hear Zoey is doing well. She sure looks like a sweet cat. I am always happy to hear such wonderful stories of caring people who help animals. What great people you are for taking on this challenge. I can see why you fell in love with her. I will be watching for updates. Thank you.

Hi,

Someone sent this story to a Yahoo list I am on. Since I am a cat lover, I was very interested to read Zoey's story. Besides, that, I have a granddaughter, Zoey. :-) We have 5 cats and one that just passed away, had to be taken care of..similar to this...when he was hit by a farm vehicle.

Thank you for rescuing Zoey and I will keep up with the rest of the story!

Congratulations, Zoey, for finding an awesome Mom and Dad!!!!

This is an amazing and wonderful story! I relate to it well, having been the "last chance" for a little runt kitty who was destined to go to the pound. Five years later, he is my best friend and constant companion. Thank you for sharing!!

Tammie,

I have been following your wonderful Zoey blog...love each and every picture you have added. Please keep them coming, it's very inspirational! We recently lost our Spikey (neighbor's dog that adopted us in 2004 and my constant companion). Our comfort is the three years of freedom he had after 14 years of being chained outside. Keep up your wonderful work and compassion. Donna
