As you can see on this picture the frets do not reach up as high as on the Tyba. The neck is seperated in two parts, the black frets are cut in triangles called "xiang" while the white frets are simply glued on the surface. Most of the cheap student models do face problems in tuning because of the wrong distance between the frets.

Die Bundstäbe sind nicht so hoch wie bei anderen Lauten, dafür jedoch zahlreicher. Der schwarze Hals hat tiefe Einkerbungen als Bünde ("xiang"), die den ursprünglichen Tonumfang des Instruments darstellen. Leider sind bei billigeren Instrumenten die Bundstäbe falsch gesetzt und müssen nachträglich korrigiert werden.
