Thursday Challenge - A Touch of Color

The girls decided they wanted to grow their own pumpkins this year. They planted the seeds, watered them, and whaddya know....pumpkins. While there is no scale here I can assure that this is one of the biggest pumpkins I have seen. It is enormous. Not the best picture but when I saw the pumpkin patch today I immediately thought of the challenge.

Thanks Mom, for the laugh about Grandpa. I never knew that happened...BUT did you know when he lived with us, out of no where a watermelon vine grew in our backyard after Grandpa and Granny moved in. You should of seen the watermelon that thing produced. It was a huge vine but only had one melon AND it was gigantic!!! Come to find out there was a hairline crack in the waterline to their apartment that watered it. That was a good thing since we live in the desert.

Cool! Very, very cool. Beautiful colors for fall. Remember when Grandpa wanted to have watermelons for us in his yard when we came down. All he had were vines, so he went to the store, bought 4 various sizes of watermelons, put them on the ground and put our names on each one. Didn't find out he didn't grow them until we went to pick one. LOL

What a find in your own back yard (I'm assuming the patch is out back). Great timing on it too for the challenge. Well done sir.

Yea, I put the kabash on growing weird things in our yard. We did sunflowers one year, freaky weird plants. Hated them. And I think we might have done the pumpkin thing once or twice. I vaguely remember something growing out into the yard and killing the grass. It's all a haze now.
