051 ATLANTIC PUFFIN

MACHIAS SEAL ISLAND, NEW BRUNSWICK, CANADA

Puffins return to MSI as adults to breed.
The colourful, triangular bill and white face are two of the characteristics seen during the breeding season. The face will become much grayer and the outer "sheath" of the bill will be shed after the breeding season.
