DSCN0063.jpg

Looking south from the site of the former Tatoosh Lookout. Mt Adams in the distance.

This is the ridge Martha Hardy, author of Tatoosh would have taken to the lookout at end of WWII. Based on her writing she would have come up the more forested route in the spring.

The FS says the trail was orginally built to acess grazing land. An Indian trail is below the one that exists today, though they may mean the part of the trail that traveres to right (as does the ridge once it reaches the lookout).
