Richmond Home - Two Years Later - 2007

Northline - Metairie, LA

About 40 per cent of the homes are again occupied on Northline. Some are under reconstruction and quite a few are up for sale. This area was under at least three feet of water for three weeks.

This is the scene in September 2005

A fantastic recovery...no doubt a lot of pain to get to this stage though.

So beautiful. I am glad to see it is thriving, once again.

It is beautiful again, but knowing the loss of homes for those less fortunate makes it bitter sweet.

Let us pray and build so it doesn't happen again.

Glad to see at least some of New Orleans being restored.

In Juy when we took Amtrak's Crescent we saw the areas trackside were still 70% damaged, with little or no effort being made to repair - restore. There were FEMA trailers
still in place.

Understandably the St Bernard, Gentilly, Gentilly Woods, and New Orleans East were occupied by lower income families than Metarie, and were under water for a longer period of time.

I'm hearing that a lot of people from Metairie are now leaving the area also. So very sad.

I looked for you as a group of women from New Orleans ( I think) were interviewed on CBS news tonight
