The Johnson House, 1900

Newberry Michigan

The Johnson House, owned by the Johnson family, was the leading hotel & boarding house in Newberry for decades. The child shown 2nd from the far right is my great grandmother, Alma Alena Johnson. She would later marry George Emil Mattson & share six children. My own name comes from mixing my grandmother's name of Lucille with her mother's name of Alena. Lucille/Alena = Salena. This same photograph can be seen in our, "Newberry Michigan" gallery.

other sizes: small medium original auto
