The Jayhawk is the symbol of KU. Strong Hall is the administration building. The construction of KU’s administration building took 14 years from the drawing board in 1909 to completion in 1923. The limestone hall, a classical revival-style building, is named for sixth chancellor Frank Strong. Although most of its rooms are offices, Strong Hall also contains classrooms. The hall has been named to the National Register of Historic Places.
