Bob, I think you would have a blast around here. We have Indigo Buntings, Blue Birds, Chickadees, and Gold Finches everywhere! Not to mention the Nut Hatches and Downy Woodpeckers. As dry as it was this summer I am surprised at how thick the little birds seem this year. Now that we've finally had a good soaking (nearly 8" of rain this month) the birds seem to be having a feast on bugs and seeds!

Thanks Colin and Shirley,
Shirley, they are gorgeous little birds that are only in my area for about two weeks. I enjoy them while they are here. AFAIK, I haven't had any chickadees around.
Thanks -- Bob K.

I'm not usually one for bird shots, but this a superb image in all respects and bang on theme too.

I just love these brightly colored goldfinches. They're beautiful little birds. They and Chickadees do a lot of eating upside down! As for eating like a bird, hummmmm maybe that's my problem! LOL

Thanks for the comments.
Marc, They have no problem swallowing in this position. Even people can swallow while upside down but it does take some getting used to.
Miroslav, Eating in this position would definitely slow down the food intake for people. but if we ate the same quantity of food in relation to our body mass as a bird does we would soon be extremely obese.
Thanks -- Bob K.

I think, the less people bee fat if we eat our mills in this position. Nice bird and nice capture.
